End of the year Giveaway Blanket

Throughout this year I am periodically working on a new blanket.   It will be made from the free balls of yarn that I seem to pick up from magazines.   As it happens I don't actually buy any magazines, the yarn just gets donated to me from friends to do something with  :)

And this is what I am going to be doing with it this year.....
A C2C, or Corner to Corner crochet blanket.  I am just going to work until each ball of yarn runs out and let it find it's own colour pattern.

If you would like to be in with a chance of winning this blanket towards the end of the year then please keep an eye on my Facebook page for more details.  I will post updates on my blog, here, as I go along.

Do you remember Miffy? FREE GIVEAWAY

Do you?  That little cute bunny rabbit that was in a series of books, originally created by Dick Bruna?  Thought you might  :)

I remember a good few years ago making a few birthday cakes with Miffy on - which was good as it was so easy to do, solid colours and simple lines - just my kind of copying  :)

Anyway..... Miffy is back!  All modernised and up-to-date.  It is coming to the Tiny Pop pre-school channel, starting on 2nd October at 7pm.  This is the "cuddle-time" slot which allows parents to have a wee cuddle and watch TV before bed.

As it happens I will have my baby Granddaughter, Hope, that evening so we are going to cuddle down to watch it before bed   :)

I have a collection of five books to give away to one lucky person to celebrate this event.

All you have to do is comment on this blog by Friday 2nd October or over on my Facebook page, and I will use a Random Name Generator to pick one lucky winner who will receive all five books.

Oh, you can also join in with a "Miffy Twitter Party" on Friday at 1.00pm.  I am hoping to be there to see what it is all about   :)

Don't forget to comment o be in with your chance of winning the books.

The Big Christmas Box - update

A quick update on what is currently sitting in the Big Christmas Gift Box.

I am opening up the door for names....... NOW !!

So, what you have to do is type the following, so I know you want to be in the draw and not just randomly commenting......  "I WOULD LOVE TO WIN THE BIG CHRISTMAS BOX, please  :)"

You can add it to the comments of this blog, or add it to the thread pinned to the top of my Facebook page.  Only entries that have the correct wording will be included.

On Thursday 18th December  (not sure what time yet, but late ish), I will put every name (one entry per person) into a random name generator and one person will win the LOT!  Everything, all of it, yep, the lot.

This little give-away is open to everyone, the more the merrier, so feel free to share if you think it might interest someone.

In the box so far is...

A knitted doughnut.

A beaded coil bangle.

A cross-stitch kit.

A crochet toilet roll, toilet roll cover.

A pom pom owl.

5 carrot buttons.

A stashbuster scarf.

2 crochet coasters.

But that is not all, as over the next few days I will find one object every day to pop in the box.  Keep an eye on my Facebook page for more details.

The Big Christmas Gift Box

Do you remember way back in February this year, it was my bloggy birthday (5 years) and I  put together, over a few weeks, a collection of random bits & bobs in a box, which went to one lucky person.  No?  Then you can read about it HERE.

So now I have decided it is time to do it again.  I seem to accumulate loads of samples of bits I make and I really need to do something with them.

This box is a CHRISTMAS gift to someone, it could be anyone.  The draw will be done by a random name generator and one person will win EVERYTHING in the box.  Whatever that might be at the time.

I will open the list for names much nearer the time, but in the meantime I need to start popping things into the box.

The first is a knitted doughnut with beaded decorations. Because everyone needs a knitted doughnut in their lives....... don't they?

What might be next, I  hear you ask.  Well, watch this blog, or my Facebook page for more updates   :)

The draw will be on Thursday 18th December.  Anyone can enter, home or away   :)  I will let you know when it it open for entries  :)

Crystal Bracelet Kit Giveaway.

I am doing a little giveaway over on my Facebook page.

It is to celebrate a new kit going on sale - that kit is a crystal bracelet kit made using the Beadweaving technique Right Angle Weave, or RAW for short.

Czech crystals, glass seed beads and a crystal button makes up a very pretty bracelet, and you can have one in the colour of your choice if you enter my giveaway and are lucky enough to win.

What you have to do is either comment on the Facebook post, it is pinned to the top of my page, or comment here on this blog.  If you cannot comment on either then you can email me your entry to soozintheshed@gmail.com

To enter, what you have to do is comment, somewhere, with the words "Gimme the Bling" and you will be entered into a draw.  I will use a random name generator to pick the winner, sometime on Sunday (22/06/14) afternoon.

Good luck.

Beaded Jewellery class and an Easter giveaway

This week I did an all day beaded jewellery class at Hobbycraft.   Three lovely ladies attended, Eaman  (sorry if I have spelt that wrong if you are reading), Lilly and Lynn.

It was a 10am - 3pm with a short break for lunch, but the time just flies in, all of a sudden the time is up and the day is over.

We started with earrings, simple beaded ones, then ones with added dangles.   We then went on to make memory wire coil bracelets which looked great.

Following that was a simple beaded necklace with monofilament thread, then a tigertail multi-strand necklace with floating beads.

I love the fact that people are offered the same materials to work from, but the results are so very different, it's great!

I made some bits as samples too, and because it is Easter I am going to do a little giveaway.  You can either enter here on the blog comments, or on the Facebook post which is pinned to the top of my Facebook page.

All you have to do to enter is to say which two pieces you would prefer from the lot, on Easter Sunday (evening UK time) I will do a random draw & the winner whose name I pick out will win the two pieces they've described.
Will post anywhere in the world.
Good luck.

BIG BIRTHDAY GIVEAWAY

In October I wrote THIS blog, explaining that on the 19th February 2014 I would have been blogging for exactly 5 years.  Wow, where did that go?

To mark this anniversary I decided to make up a Birthday Blog Box full of bits and pieces that I had come across, or made since that date in October.

So let's have a look at what is what is in the box .......

crocheted facecloth in 100% cotton.  So luxurious to use, but natural too  :)

Three pairs of beaded earrings - fun, fashion jewellery on plated wires.

A cutesy memory wire coil bangle, easy to wear and just the thing to brighten up any outfit.

A chunky cosy earwarmer head thing  (daughter not included) in muted shades of green.

A folksy style felt hanging heart decoration.  Suitable for all year round. not just for Christmas  :)

A bar of handmade soap.

A cutesy crocheted Owl as mentioned on THIS blog post.

A Bead & Wire bracelet kit.

A hand-made fused glass pendant, made by me :)

9 tubs of different colour glass beads in various sizes.

A set of tutorials for beginners Beadweaving.  Colour, step-by-step print outs so you can learn all these stitches and clasps too!

A gorgeously clashy necklace in pale pink, red and hot pink, with a silver plated clasp.

A little bluey lilac crochet rose on a brooch pin.

A Snowflake Obsidian pendant  :)

An earring book by Bead & Button.  28 pairs of earrings to make - but it's in Spanish!   However, I am sure someone can work them out from the photos.

6 beautiful crystal buttons.

And I might have dropped a few more bits in on the way ....

A couple of lavender triangles for your undies drawer  :)

A ceramic pin badge in the shape of a super cute cat.

And some surprise bits too.

So, what do you have to do to be in with a chance of winning the Birthday Blog Box I hear you ask.  Well it's very easy actually, all you have to do is let me know.

This can be via a comment on this very blog, or a comment on the Facebook page link, or even an email.

The winner will be chosen by a random name generator, I just type all the names in and it gives me back a randomly picked one.  I will accept entries up until 7.00pm on Sunday 23rd February 2014 (British time) and I will do the draw after that on Sunday (or perhaps Monday, if I should forget :) )

Anyone from anywhere can enter and the winner gets everything listed above.

Good luck, and feel free to share if you do not fancy putting your name down.
