Crafter's Coins

I've been working on a cunning plan.  In the New Year Hobbycraft are running out a New Year / New Hobby campaign, so as part of that a plan was hatched, in the Carlisle store, to allow people to have a little go at a lot of crafts  :)

The idea is this.....

On Sunday 2nd February, from 11.00am - 4.00pm we are bringing as many artisans involved with Hobbycraft and who offer classes, in to store to help with this event.  They will set up their tables with their art/craft and offer mini-workshops which will take around 20-30 minutes each.

Customers will buy pay £10.00 and get 5 Crafters Coins  (which my Hubster very nicely designed) and this entitles them to FIVE mini-workshops.  YES, FIVE!  For just a tenner!!

They just pop over to a table of their choice, pay them a Crafters Coin, sit down and start crafting/arting  (is arting a word?).

They can choose from any of these....

Illustration & Sketching with Nair Morna.
Zentangle with Helen from A Little Bit Askew.
Crochet with me from SoozInTheShed.
Earrings or Memory Wire Bracelets with Shona from The Bead Shed.
Patchwork with Marie from Nim & Num.
Needlefelting with Julie from Community Based Art.
A tray of Fimo miniature chocolates with Helena from Heevis Miniatures.
Decopatch with a member of the Hobbycraft team.

The artisans will also have details on classes that they will be holding in the New Year, so if you really enjoyed your little taster session, you can book a longer one if you wish too.

And if a customer cannot decide which craft they wish to try, they can trust in fate and spin our Wheel Of Fortune which will choose the craft for them  :)

This is going to be such a great day, coins are on sale now, so to save disappointment get down (or up) to Carlisle Hobbycraft and buy yours now.   I think this would also make a great little Christmas present for that person you just never know what to buy for.

  1. What a lovely idea, is this going to be nationwide or just Carlisle, a brand new store has just opened here in Chesterfield? Either way I hope you have a great day.

  2. At the moment it's just Carlisle, although I am sure if they wanted to run it out and use it in other stores they could ;)

  3. Please come to Oxford! The Hobbycraft here is so boring, and the people who work there (mostly teenaged boys on the counter) look bored and tired. As far as I can see there are no classes.
