Commenting on Blogs

A little while ago I clicked a tick box in the settings part of my blog dashboard.

I read the destructions first and it seemed to be that using Google + for comments is the clever thing to do as it will bring comments in not only from your blog but also from your G+ account.

What I didn't realise is that you can ONLY have a G+ account to comment, so my comment count actually went down. I was getting emails stating "Sorry, can't comment on your blog, but....".  I had presumed that it would still allow other users to comment.

So today I have unticked that box.

Can you comment now?

Would love to see how many can get through with this adjustment, even if it's just a single word  :)

Thanks for your time, it is muchly appreciated, so much so that I am preparing a giveaway  (which wont be much good if no one can comment!)

    2. I could always comment :)
Thanks for the tip about the light from Hobbycraft. I got one but was again v disappointed with the Oxford branch. After reading your blogs about Carlisle's Hobbycraft, I expected to see fun displays and advertisements for classes and things, but there was nothing, apart from a table that looked as though as it might have been put there for something, in the future, maybe, but no one was putting anything on it. The staff looked miserable and bored, too, and there was no one on the floor to advise (that I could see). They need your energy and talent, Sooz!

    3. PS
Your blog hasn't always asked for the anti-robot letters, so some comments I made never got on.

    4. Do you like your lamp Sandie? All Hobbycrafts should follow an outreach program I believe, which involves artisans, demos and classes. Maybe they just haven't got it up and running as quick as we have :) I think they opened the same time.

interesting about the anti-robot letter, not sure what that was all about, but should be ok now hopefully.

  3. Odd - if I go onto your blog via Facebook, there's nowhere to comment and no previous comments showing. If I come on via my own blog there's comments and this wee box too. It still asks for an ID though.

  4. Fantastic! I wondered why people weren't commenting anymore. Looks like you can Margret, but unticking the box seems to have deleted all the old Google + comments.

  5. Ahhh I have a google+ account so I don't think it would have made any difference to me, I think I used to have a similar problem on my blog, but I think I've sorted it now

    1. I also have G+ account, I think it's harder for those who don't. I guess it's just Google wanting people to sign up to G+.
